Ever wondered what happened to those Cabbage Patch dolls that ate snacks, or the flying fairies known as Sky Dancers? Because of the thriving black market in Jarts imported from the UK and Europe (where they could still legally be sold) the US Consumer Product Safety Commission reissued its ban in 1997. But don't laugh at the innocence of the 50s - as recently as 2000, Fisher-Price thought it would be fun for kiddies if they could crash headlong into a wall on a powered motor cycle just like the grown ups. The good old US Consumer Product Safety Commission (what would over indulgent parents do without them? ) immediately ordered Fisher-Price to recall the dangerous toys, and told consumers to stop using them at once.
